Lugano set to swap Fenerbahce for MTP

Fenerbahce have revealed that the captain of the Uruguay Diego Lugano left the club to join the Ligue 1 side MTP.

Lugano, 30, was the Turkish outfit for five years, but moves on with the club involved in a scandal of match fixing, who saw their retired from the League this season, Champions this week.

MTP are yet to confirm the signing, but a statement on the official website of Fenerbahce, said: "We thank for his efforts with the club to this day and I wish him good luck."

The Declaration was then rent the centre-back for his "energy without end on the field" and his "brave heart".

Lugano, who also played for the South American giants Nacional Sao Paulo, has led his country to third place in last year's World Cup and a record 15 titile of the Copa America in July then.

MTP - backed by wealthy landowners of the Qatar Investment Authority - spent more than 80 million € this summer on the players of the ilk of Javier Pastore, Jeremy Menez and Kevin Gameiro to the French capital.
