France reserved their place in the semi-finals of the World Cup Saturday with a penalty shoot-out victory over a team of England battling after the match finished 1-1 at Leverkusen.

Favorites France dominated for long periods of quarter-final, but it was England who took the lead against the run of the game through Jill Scott in the 59th minute.
