Sir Alex Ferguson revealed that Carlos Tevez was not signed by Manchester United on a permanent agreement because he said he was going to leave football in four years.

Tevez was at Old Trafford for two years on loan, but United chooses not to take the option to retain him and he joined rivals Manchester City.
Since then, the Argentina was even to become one of the best players in Premier League, leading many to question the wisdom of Ferguson on the decision to let him go. However, canny Scot revealed the reasons for turning down Tevez, stating that he would not have been a profitable investment in the long term.
"Tevez told us that he would only play for four years," said Ferguson. "If we had signed him on a five year contract, knowing that he would leave in four, there would no value of resale for us."
With 45 millions of books valued at Tevez eager to leave the city to return to South America to be closer to his family, Ferguson also revealed where it even though the future of forward lies, despite recent interest from Italian side Inter Milan.
